1. Results to date and ECI Sign Day on May 9

We have now reached around 192,000 signatures. Spain and Germany have taken another big step forward with over 82% of the minimum quorum, followed by Latvia, Greece, Estonia and Italy. Here you can find the numbers and growth every day. Here our European Website: https://eci-ubi.eu/

The last day for our collection of signatures is June 25, 2022. That is why we want to use the EU's Europe Day on 9 May as an ECI Sign Day together with other European Citizens' Initiatives in order to make our ECI successful. This will only be possible with your support.

The most significant developments last year, however, were in the area of taxation and transparency of so-called MNEs - large multinational enterprises. The changes, which my colleagues in the EP and I actively participated in, were even so ground-breaking that the UK think-tank Tax Justice Network - which, among other things, monitors the volume of tax evasion for each country - identified 2021 as the year when the "tide has risen" in the fight for tax justice. 👍
Mikuláš Peksa: “After many years we managed to push through the so-called public Country-by-Country Reporting. With November's approval in the European Parliament, the pCBCR finally got the green light, and Member States will now have until mid-2023 at the latest to approve legislation requiring large, globally operating corporations to publicly report their earnings, costs, links to other companies and other data on a country-by-country basis. I am glad that our pressure has also helped; transparency by these colossuses is necessary.” 🏴
